What It’s All About
I’ve had the idea for this series in my head for years, but had to push it aside to write other books and series. I’d worked up a proposal for a publisher, but then I couldn’t get my sh*t together to write it (my mom passing away really stymied me for a while.) I decided to indie publish it instead.
Finally I was able to write book one, and now it will actually appear!
The Gentlemen
Eamon Stone, Hayden McCormick, and Dominic Wolfe have survived everything together—from a brutal schoolboy existence to deadly missions against Napoleon. Stranded behind enemy lines at Waterloo, they make a pact: if they live through the day, each will try to settle down and marry, leaving the last bachelor standing the loser of their wager.
No one expects Eamon Stone, son of a disgraced swindler, to fall in love first, least of all Eamon himself.
The Ladies
The three ladies in question also grew up together, their families residing in nearby homes in Hampshire, and they’ve remained close ever since.
The Duchess: Caro Aylesmore, a widowed young woman who’d been the second wife of the aging Duke of Aylesmore, bore him a son (Leo), who is now nine and the duke. Aylesmore, unfortunately, had been feckless with money and Caro has to resort to selling anything not entailed to keep food on the table for herself, Leo, and her mother-in-law. The last thing she needs is to fall in love with Eamon Stone, son of a confidence trickster, especially with Leo’s cousin doing his best to take Leo away from Caro.
The Princess: Jo (Princess Josephine Anne-Marie Sophia Vollen of Osagard), daughter of the heir to the throne of Osagard, has lived in England her entire life, and has grown close to Caro and their third friend, Louise. Her father is in exile, waiting for the day he might be recalled to rule their tiny Balkan land. This makes Jo off limits for any suitor who isn’t thoroughly vetted by the prince’s majordomo, which for now, is fine with Jo. Until she meets Hayden McCormick, the brilliant tutor from the Shetland Isles hired to tutor her niece.
The Countess: Louise, Countess of Heyford, married for love and went into deep mourning for her husband when he passed away. She has two boys (her heir and spare) she will do anything for, and she’s not pleased when Lord Dominic Wolfe, second son of a marquis, arrives on the horizon. She finds him arrogant and stubborn, and has no idea why she’s compelled to ask him to teach her two sons horsemanship. She will keep him at arm’s length as long as she possibly can. After all, she has no intention of falling in love again.
There you have it–more or less. There is a lot going on inside the books, of course! See the Series Page which will have ongoing updates, and the book pages for excerpts and more information when I have them.

I hope you enjoy the series!
